Due to high incidence and treatment difficulty in clinical practice, acne scars have a significant impact on the mental and physical health of patients. Despite various treatments at present, relevant high-quality clinical researches are still scarce. Meanwhile, there are also some problems such as inconsistent therapies and undesirable efficacy. How to choose a proper comprehensive treatment against acne scars in different periods and of different types is a hot topic and a pain point in clinical practice.

This press conference was presided over by Yang Sen, the leader of the laser cosmetology team of the Chinese Society of Medical Aesthetics and Cosmetology, a branch of CMA. At the conference, Professor Yang introduced the development of the Consensus, including its launching, compilation, modification and publication. He pointed out that there is no unified standard for the treatment of acne scars in China. Therefore, the Consensus was compiled in combination with a wide range of disciplines and the long experience of many leading experts in such treatment to standardize the clinical diagnosis and treatment in the country. He also said that its English version would be issued soon, helping domestic treatment experience go global.

Jack Wang, the founder/chairman/CEO of Winhealth Pharma, addressed at the conference. He expressed sincere thanks to Professor Yang for leading the development of Expert Consensus on Treatment of Acne Scars in China (2021). With the concept of “patients first” in mind, Winhealth Pharma remains committed to providing innovative therapies for patients with rare diseases and other unmet medical needs. Since 2017, Winhealth Pharma has built a long-term, stable strategic partnership with German Merz Pharma for its product, Contractubex®. We hope that can offer more therapies to domestic patients who suffer from acne scars and will make contributions to the clinical practice of Chinese dermatologists and plastic surgeons in acne scars in the future.
Many editors of the Consensus participated in the press conference, and actively, warmly communicated with other attendees. It hopes that the release of the Consensus standardizes the clinical treatment of domestic dermatologists and plastic surgeons in acne scars and delivers benefits to more patients.
