    Dosage

Before the use of this product for the first time, the patient's basic neutrophil count must be ≥1500/mm 3, the platelet count must be ≥100,000/mm 3, and the hemoglobin level must be greater than or equal to 9g/dL (if necessary, it can be applied after blood transfusion).

The recommended dose of this product is 1.25 mg/m 2 each time, qd, intravenous infusion for 30 minutes, for 5 consecutive days, and one course of treatment lasts for 21 days.  For patients with no progress of disease, it is suggested that this product be used for at least 4 courses of treatment because the treatment effect is slow.  In the three clinical trials where this product was used to treat ovarian cancer, the median time of onset of action was 7.6~11.7 weeks.  In the four clinical trials where it was used for small cell lung cancer, the median time of onset of action was 6.1 weeks.

In tumor therapy, the conventional measure to treat neutropenia is to use drugs such as G-CSF or reduce the dosage.

For patients with severe neutropenia lasting for 7 days or longer (neutrophil count ≤ 0.5× 10 9/L), or severe neutropenia accompanied by fever or infection, or delayed treatment due to neutropenia, the dosage should be reduced by 0.25 mg/m 2/day to 1.0 mg/m 2/day if it needs to be reduced.

If the platelet count is less than 25×109/L, the dosage should also be reduced.

In clinical trials, if the dosage is reduced to less than 1.0 mg/m 2, the intravenous administration of topotecan should be stopped.

    Dosage of combined medication:

If Topotecan Hydrochloride for Injection is used in combination with other cytotoxic preparations, the dosage should be adjusted (see [Drug Interaction]).
